Racing Incident Report

Prior to the running of Race 4, ETERNAL FUN was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had a temperature. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of ETERNAL FUN. NAZAKAT II was slow to begin and lost considerable ground at the start. PROFIT DAY, which was standing with its head turned to the left side, began very awkwardly, shortly afterwards shifted out and crowded OLIVE OR TWIST. EL VIENTO was a little slow to begin. In the early and middle stages, BULLISH KID, which was racing without cover, proved difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions. At the 800 Metres, ALWAYS ZIETEN was momentarily steadied away from the heels of PROFIT DAY. On straightening, FLYING SUCCESS became unbalanced after being brushed on the hindquarters by QUICK STEP which was taken out by OLIVE OR TWIST which shifted out to go forward. Passing the 200 Metres, ALWAYS ZIETEN was held up when disappointed for running inside PROFIT DAY which was giving ground. D Whyte (BULLISH KID) explained passing the 800 Metres he looked to his inside on several occasions to ensure he was properly clear of OLIVE OR TWIST before crossing to race beside PROFIT DAY in the lead. OLIVE OR TWIST and FLYING SUCCESS were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted PROFIT DAY had blood in its mouth due to a small laceration to the tongue.
