Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, PEPPERONI stood flat-footed and lost a considerable amount of ground. MR BASKETBALL bounded in the air, began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. Shortly after the start, FOOD LOVER was crowded for room between BOND which after shifting in was straightened and SURE FORTUNE which shifted out. INEX EXCELLENCE made the turn near the 1500 Metres awkwardly and shifted out, causing ETERNAL FUN to be carried wider. After this, ETERNAL FUN raced wide and without cover for the remainder of the race. Near the 1100 Metres, FOOD LOVER became unbalanced and lost ground when awkwardly placed close to the heels of FAT CHANCE. At the 600 Metres, INEX EXCELLENCE, which was giving ground, was steadied when crowded for room between FOOD LOVER and ETERNAL FUN which shifted in. Near the 500 Metres, UNIVERSAL PIONEER became unbalanced after being bumped by FAT CHANCE. Shortly after this, INDY'S GEM was steadied when held up for running between UNIVERSAL PIONEER and CHOICE AND CHANCE which when giving ground became unbalanced and hung in. Near the 100 Metres, GOOD WIN became unbalanced. Over the concluding stages, MR BASKETBALL hung out and just prior to the winning post shifted ground and brushed SURE FORTUNE. The performances of PEPPERONI, CHOICE AND CHANCE and INEX EXCELLENCE, which all tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before these horses will be permitted to race again, they must perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FOOD LOVER was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of FOOD LOVER after the race did not show any significant findings. FAT CHANCE and GOOD WIN were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted ETERNAL FUN had sustained a laceration to its right hind heel.

INDY'S GEM
INDY'S GEM was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer S Woods this morning and at this time was found to be lame in the left front fetlock.
Before being permitted to race again, INDY'S GEM will be required to pass an official veterinary examination.
BOND
BOND was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon at the stables of Trainer G Lane this morning and at this time was found to be lame in the right hind leg.
Before being permitted to race again, BOND will be required to pass an official veterinary examination.
