Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, VICTORY WARRIOR and DASHING WINNER bounded in the air. OUR CLASS was slow to begin. On jumping, SMART WINNER and PLANET RULER bumped. Also HO CHOI and ANABATIK bumped. ANABATIK then shifted in and bumped GRAND DELIGHT. Shortly after the start, CHEERFUL FORTUNE was carried wider by PLANET RULER. This caused inconvenience on its outside to CAPE OF GOOD HOPE, GRAND DELIGHT, ANABATIK and HO CHOI, all of which were carried wider. In the early stages, DASHING WINNER proved difficult to settle and after the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of SMART WINNER. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, ANABATIK was steadied away from the heels of HO CHOI (W C Marwing) which shifted in when not quite clear. W C Marwing was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care. Making the turns, CHEERFUL FORTUNE hung out. W Smith (DASHING WINNER) explained making the turn at the 800 Metres his horse got its head on the side and shifted out close to the heels of CAPE OF GOOD HOPE, resulting in him checking his mount. PRIME WITNESS was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, PRIME WITNESS was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of blood in the trachea. Before being allowed to race again, PRIME WITNESS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CHEERFUL FORTUNE and PLANET RULER were sent for sampling.
