Racing Incident Report
On jumping, ABLE EAGLE knuckled. Also on jumping, MIRACLES shifted out abruptly. TOY QUEST began awkwardly. MAGIC TEMPLE was slow to begin. PRIME VAIN was slow to begin, then shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room between MAGICAL LOT and FAIRPLAY which was taken out by MY CHOICE which shifted abruptly on jumping. Shortly after this, FAIRPLAY, which was continuing to shift out, blundered after clipping the heels of MAGICAL LOT which was taken in slightly by THE GRAND ROOF. For some distance approaching the 800 Metres, THE GRAND ROOF when proving difficult to settle was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SOLAR EMPIRE. For the major part of the Home Straight, DILIGENT was unable to obtain clear running. After the 200 Metres, DETERMINATION was momentarily steadied when awkwardly placed outside DILIGENT and inside the heels of ABLE EAGLE. J Spencer (TOY QUEST) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that after the 100 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in whilst being ridden along, thereby causing crowding on his inside to SUPER SPRINT, ABLE EAGLE and DILIGENT which resulted in DILIGENT losing its rightful running and being checked. J Spencer was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday 1 December 2003 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong race days). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Happy Valley meeting next Wednesday 19 November 2003. KOWLOON STAR was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of KOWLOON STAR after the race did not show any significant findings. MY CHOICE and TOY QUEST were sent for sampling.
