Racing Incident Report

CITI CENTRE and NORTHERN FLYER began awkwardly. On jumping, A BETTER DRAGON became unbalanced after bumping with FIRST KNIGHT. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, CITI CENTRE got its head up when being steadied to avoid the heels of JUST IN TIME. In the early stages, RED BARON proved difficult to settle. At the 700 Metres, NORTHERN FLYER was unbalanced when close to the heels of ACME OF SURPRISE. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, RED BARON became unbalanced after brushing the running rail. After the 400 Metres, RED BARON was steadied when momentarily crowded inside the hindquarters of HIGHLAND DAWN. Near the 100 Metres, FIRST KNIGHT was struck on the head by the whip of A Delpech (NORTHERN FLYER). Also near the 100 Metres, ACME OF SURPRISE, which was hanging in, was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of CHARIOT OF WEI HAI which was giving ground. After this, ACME OF SURPRISE did not obtain clear running between CHARIOT OF WEI HAI and JUST IN TIME. Over about the final 100 Metres, CITI CENTRE had difficulty obtaining clear running initially between RED BARON and ACME OF SURPRISE and then afterwards between RED BARON and CHARIOT OF WEI HAI. Over about the final 50 Metres, MAGICAL WARRIOR was unable to obtain clear running between ACME OF SURPRISE and FIRST KNIGHT. After the 50 Metres, JUST IN TIME, which had had some difficulty obtaining clear running, was steadied when disappointed for running between HIGHLAND DAWN and MAGIC TOUCH which shifted in. Because of this, JUST IN TIME was not ridden out to the line as it normally would be. GOOD FRIENDS was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of GOOD FRIENDS after the race did not show any significant findings. RED BARON, MAGIC TOUCH and HIGHLAND DAWN were sent for sampling.
