Racing Incident Report

DR MORE was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, SELF FLIT blundered and almost fell after being crowded for room between ELEGANT FASHION which was taken in by RIVER DANCER which in turn was carried in by HIDDEN DRAGON which had its head on the side and shifted ground and BOWMAN'S CROSSING which was carried out by HO CHOI which was carried out by MERIDIAN STAR which itself had been carried wider by ALL THRILLS TOO. In this incident, RIVER DANCER, ELEGANT FASHION, BOWMAN'S CROSSING and HO CHOI became unbalanced and lost ground. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Near the 1400 Metres, HIDDEN DRAGON was bumped by SPLENDID PATROL. After the 1200 Metres, ELEGANT FASHION was steadied when crowded for room between BOWMAN'S CROSSING and RIVER DANCER which shifted in slightly. After this, RIVER DANCER commenced to hang in and brushed BOWMAN'S CROSSING which in turn shifted ground and made contact with SELF FLIT which had been ridden along to improve its position. G Mossé (ELEGANT FASHION) said as a result of the interference he received at the start and again near the 1200 Metres, he was further back than he wished. He said because of the way the race was being run, he elected to go forward around BOWMAN'S CROSSING, wide on the track after the 800 Metres in an endeavour to improve his position. A Marcus (HO CHOI) reported in his opinion the horse had failed to handle today's wet track conditions and following the race was making an abnormal breathing noise. HO CHOI was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of HO CHOI after the race did not show any significant findings. SUPER KID and HIDDEN DRAGON were sent for sampling.
