Racing Incident Report
TSZ WAN FORTUNE was withdrawn on 18.3.04 on veterinary grounds (right fore capped elbow) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FLASH HARRY (W M Lai). Before being allowed to race again, TSZ WAN FORTUNE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After arriving at the Start, the tongue tie on HEALTHY FRUITS was replaced. HARVEST was slow to begin. SHERIFF BAMBOO, which was fractious in the barriers, stood flat-footed as the gates opened and lost ground. BOWIN was tightened for room at the start between LUCKY TRIO which was taken out by SUPER CHARGE and SCINTILLATION which shifted in. QUICK NEWS, from its wide gate, was immediately steadied at the start and taken back close to the rail but at the rear. Near the 1200 Metres, HAPPY TOGETHER and BOWIN bumped. Near the 900 Metres, FORTUNE BOY got its head up when being steadied off the heels of SCINTILLATION which shifted in when only just clear. FORTUNE BOY then made the first turn awkwardly. Near the 800 Metres, GREEN VACATION hung in when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUPER CHARGE. Shortly after entering the Straight, CAPITAL GAIN was steadied away from the heels of HEALTHY FRUITS. CAPITAL GAIN then hung in and was unable to obtain clear running between HEALTHY FRUITS and FORTUNE BOY which was commencing to give ground until inside the 200 Metres. After obtaining a run between HEALTHY FRUITS and FORTUNE BOY passing the 200 Metres, CAPITAL GAIN was again hampered when both horses shifted ground. FLASH HARRY travelled wide and without cover throughout, then hung in badly when giving ground in the Straight. SCINTILLATION and FIFTY FIFTY were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported that HARVEST had lost its left hind plate.
