Racing Incident Report

ROMANTIC SYMPHONY and BY MEMORY began awkwardly. On jumping, MEMBERS GLORY and STRATEGIC SELECT bumped. SPRINTER was slow to begin. On straightening, FANTASTIC STAR clipped the heels of OLIVE OR TWIST, blundered and almost fell. The occurrence in the opinion of the Stewards was accidental. Near the 300 Metres, BY MEMORY was checked to avoid the heels of SANBENITO which when commencing to give ground got its head on the side, shifted in away from SPINNING CITY and was steadied away from the heels of DESERT STORM. No action was taken. For some distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres, SPRINTER had difficulty obtaining clear running. After the 200 Metres, LOYAL DEVOTION, which was giving ground, was steadied when crowded for room between SPRINTER and STRATEGUS which shifted out. Near the 150 Metres, STRATEGUS was steadied when disappointed for running between FORTUNE LIFE and STRATEGIC SELECT. After this, STRATEGUS was shifted to the inside of CHAMP DRAGON to continue going forward. Near the 100 Metres, CHAMP DRAGON shifted out, then over the concluding stages hung in and proved difficult to ride. Throughout the race, SANBENITO raced wide and without cover. FANTASTIC STAR was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, FANTASTIC STAR was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said there were no significant abnormalities. STRATEGIC SELECT and SPINNING CITY were sent for sampling.
