Racing Incident Report

UNIVERSAL PIONEER from the outside gate was a little slow to begin, then in the early stages was hard ridden to go forward when wide on the track. OPTIC FRIENDLY began awkwardly. WADADELIGHT was slow to begin. On jumping, TRI-STAR stumbled. MR GENKI, which was standing badly, began awkwardly, got its head up, making the first turn hung out across the heels of ALWAYS ZIETEN which was shifting in, then making the turn after the 700 Metres hung out badly and lost ground. MR GENKI was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race MR GENKI was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said an endoscopic examination showed the horse to have a large amount of track material present in the trachea. The performance of MR GENKI was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MR GENKI will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. At the 1400 Metres, ADVANCE AHEAD was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of MR BASKETBALL. After the 1200 Metres, MAGIC TEMPLE was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BIG SHOT. Near the 1100 Metres, PORTER RICKS was crowded for room inside UNIVERSAL PIONEER which got its head on the side and hung in. Near the 700 Metres, MAGIC TEMPLE was steadied when disappointed for running between CLANG'S PRIDE and BIG SHOT, both of which shifted a little ground. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, PORTER RICKS hung out. The performance of PORTER RICKS, which finished distanced, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, PORTER RICKS will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the 600 Metres, CLANG'S PRIDE got its head on the side and shifted out. This allowed CHINA WORLD to improve on its inside. On straightening, CLANG'S PRIDE was checked when crowded for room between ADVANCE AHEAD and BIG SHOT which was carried in slightly by MAGIC TEMPLE (W Woods) which at this time got its head on the side and momentarily shifted in. W Woods immediately straightened his mount, therefore no action was taken. Near the 300 Metres, WADADELIGHT, which was beginning to close the race off strongly, for some distance was steadied when unable to obtain clear running inside UNIVERSAL PIONEER which was giving ground. Near the 200 Metres, ALWAYS ZIETEN, which was also closing the race off fairly, was steadied when awkwardly placed and unable to improve inside the heels of ADVANCE AHEAD. CLANG'S PRIDE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, CLANG'S PRIDE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had bled from both nostrils. CHINA WORLD and MR BASKETBALL were sent for sampling.
