Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, COMPANION bounded in the air. DRAGON HORSE, which was standing badly, blundered on jumping and then was bumped on the hindquarters by SIGHT CHAMPION which shifted out. Shortly after this, LUCKY TRIO was checked when crowded for room between CENDAMY and DRAGON HORSE, both of which shifted ground. GOLD START began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of KAO AND MING. As a result of this, GOLD START then shifted out and caused some inconvenience to FOUR ACES which on jumping got its head up. Near the 900 Metres, LOYAL DEVOTION was checked when crowded for room between CENDAMY which shifted out and GOLD START which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in away from BOLD FIGHTER which was shifting ground in front when clear. As a result of this incident, GOLD START was bumped by LOYAL DEVOTION, then shifted out and bumped FOUR ACES. Near the 700 Metres, DRAGON HORSE was steadied away from the heels of COMPANION which shifted in when barely clear. After this, DRAGON HORSE proved very difficult to settle and making the turn at the 600 Metres shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of BEAUTY PLUS. In the middle stages and particularly making the Home Turn, LUCKY TRIO hung out badly. Approaching the 200 Metres, AMBITIOUS LEADER got its head on the side and was reluctant to shift to the outside of BEAUTY PLUS into clear running. Passing the 200 Metres, DRAGON HORSE raced tight inside BEAUTY PLUS. In the Straight, CENDAMY hung in. Near the winning post, SIGHT CHAMPION was brushed by BOLD FIGHTER. GOLD START, which tailed out, was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, GOLD START was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said there were no significant findings. The performance of GOLD START was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, GOLD START will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. KAO AND MING, COMPANION and BEAUTY PLUS were sent for sampling.
