Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the Start, A Marcus (SAINT THOMAS) reported to the Veterinary Surgeon that the horse did not feel right in its action. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, trotted up and after the necessary consultations was considered suitable to race. MOVE IT and SAINT THOMAS were slow to begin. When the gates opened, NOBLE SILENCE bounded in the air and lost ground. Also when the gates opened, CLASSA FOR EVER bounded in the air and on landing stumbled, causing Apprentice H W Lai, its rider, to become unbalanced. At the 1200 Metres, DASHING WINNER was steadied when awkwardly placed outside SAINT THOMAS which shifted out. For some distance approaching and passing the 1000 Metres, CZAR OF PRUSSIA was awkwardly placed inside the heels of WINNING DRAGON. Approaching the first turn, SAINT THOMAS proved difficult to settle. In the middle stages, SNIPPEDYDOODA hung out. SAINT THOMAS, WINNING DRAGON and SNIPPEDYDOODA were sent for sampling.
