Racing Incident Report

KINGSTON GLORY began awkwardly and got its head up. SOLOMON began awkwardly. When the gates opened, ON SHAN EXPRESS got its head up, shifted out and bumped GOLD SANDFIELD. Near the 1500 Metres, KING OF FIELD was steadied away from the heels of SOLOMON which when racing greenly shifted in away from DESERT STORM. After this, SOLOMON proved difficult to settle and continued to race greenly. After the 1000 Metres, GOLD SANDFIELD was left racing wide and without cover, then at the 800 Metres was carried wider by DESERT STORM which shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of SOLOMON as the pace steadied. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, CLEAN SWEEP was steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside HOT PRACTITIONER. KINGSTON GLORY in turn was steadied away from the heels of CLEAN SWEEP. At the 600 Metres, KING OF FIELD, which was hanging in, was steadied and shifted to the outside of DESERT STORM. At the 400 Metres, KINGSTON GLORY was steadied away from the heels of CLEAN SWEEP which shifted out in an endeavour to find clear running. For some distance after this, KINGSTON GLORY had difficulty obtaining clear running between CLEAN SWEEP and DESERT STORM which was giving ground. Near the 50 Metres, DESERT STORM was steadied and KINGSTON GLORY inconvenienced when crowded for room between CLEAN SWEEP and KING OF FIELD which when hanging in shifted away from FLYING KENNY after initially being carried in by that horse. No action was taken. Over about the final 50 Metres, CHECK MATE, which was closing the race off strongly, was not able to obtain clear running between CLEAN SWEEP and GOLD SANDFIELD. Just prior to the winning post, CHECK MATE was checked when disappointed for running between these horses as a result of GOLD SANDFIELD shifting out slightly. As CHECK MATE had not established rightful running between these horses, no action was taken. HONEY MONEY, MASTER MARAUDER and FLYING KENNY were sent for sampling.
