Racing Incident Report
RAIDER and CALIFORNIA HAWK were slow to begin. GRAND ZULU began awkwardly, bounded in the air and lost ground. WYNDAM EASY began awkwardly. After the 1200 Metres, MY CHOICE became unbalanced when proving difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GREAT DELIGHT. Just prior to straightening, WYNDAM EASY got its head on the side, lay in and was awkwardly placed outside the heels of GREAT DELIGHT. Near the 300 Metres, GOODY was steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running between CALIFORNIA HAWK and RAIDER Near the 100 Metres, GOODY was again steadied and shifted to the inside of KEY TO SUCCESS to obtain clear running. Apprentice H W Lai (RED PEPPER) said he had been instructed to endeavour to have the horse begin well and then ride it in as far forward a position as possible. He said after travelling a short distance he allowed WYNDAM EASY to improve through on his inside, he then switched to the rail and improved his position on the inside of MY CHOICE. GOODY and GRAND ZULU were sent for sampling.
