Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the Start, TOP PRIZE was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. He said the horse was suitable to race. BEAR DOMINANCE bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. Near the 2000 Metres, CORNWALL CHIEFS was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of ZERUBBABEL which itself was awkwardly placed inside the heels of GREEN IN BLUE which shifted in when barely clear. In the early stages, BEAR DOMINANCE proved difficult to settle. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, TRAVEL LEADER was crowded for room inside DR WELL which momentarily got its head on the side and lay in. At the same time, WINNING RONGRONG hung in and crowded CLASSA VICTORY which was racing on its inside. WINNING RONGRONG was then shifted out to relieve the pressure when it was not clear of GREEN IN BLUE which as a result struck the heels of WINNING RONGRONG and blundered. The occurrence in the opinion of the Stewards was accidental. After this, GREEN IN BLUE hung in. Shortly after straightening, SEASONS KNACK was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of ZERUBBABEL. At the 250 Metres, CORNWALL CHIEFS was steadied and shifted to the outside of BEAR DOMINANCE. After the 200 Metres, TOP PRIZE was checked when crowded for room between PERFETTO which shifted out slightly and GREEN IN BLUE which when giving ground got its head on the side and shifted in. No action was taken. F Coetzee (ZERUBBABEL), which was having its first start over 2200 Metres tonight, explained the horse over-raced throughout, would not settle, as a consequence failed to run out the distance of tonight's race and was disappointing. ZERUBBABEL was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. GREEN IN BLUE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ZERUBBABEL and GREEN IN BLUE after the race did not show any significant findings. DR WELL and BEAR DOMINANCE were sent for sampling.
