Racing Incident Report

SYLLABUS began awkwardly, bumped the inside gate of its stall, lost ground and then raced greenly throughout. On jumping, CHARIOT OF WEI HAI threw its head about and shortly afterwards was steadied away from the heels of TELECOM SUPERBOSS. ONE EYE JACK was slow to begin. From the outside gate, PORT OF HOPE was immediately steadied and shifted across behind runners to a position close to the rail but near the rear. At the 1400 Metres, CHARIOT OF WEI HAI got its head up, shifted in and caused some crowding to KING OF FIELD. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, SYLLABUS became unbalanced when racing tight inside SPEED OF LIGHT which was carried in by KING OF FIELD which at this time got its head on the side and hung in. Near the 600 Metres, SPEED OF LIGHT got its head up when close to the heels of ENAMELLED which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of ACCELERATION. Over about the final 200 Metres, KING OF FIELD hung in. Throughout the race, JOIN VICTORY raced wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. JOIN VICTORY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of JOIN VICTORY after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of JOIN VICTORY was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, JOIN VICTORY will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. KING OF FIELD and COURAGEOUSHEART were sent for sampling.
