Racing Incident Report

SWIFT GERMANIA began awkwardly, causing B Prebble, its rider, to become unbalanced. INSIDE MAIL was slow to begin. BULB KING was slow to begin, then after being ridden along near the 900 Metres was momentarily steadied away from the heels of GRAND FIGHTER. After the 800 Metres, when being steadied in the lead, CLASSA FOR EVER got its head up. Near the 700 Metres, BULB KING, which at this time was proving difficult to settle, got its head up, shifted in and bumped FIRM OFFER when being steadied away from the heels of GRAND FIGHTER. BULB KING continued to prove difficult to settle for some distance afterwards. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, SAND DANCE got its head on the side, shifted in, bumped the hindquarters of INSIDE MAIL and became unbalanced. In the early part of the Straight, BULB KING got its head on the side and hung in, then for some distance near the 200 Metres was unable to improve between FIRM OFFER and GRAND FIGHTER. After the 200 Metres, INSIDE MAIL was checked when disappointed for running inside BULB KING. Over the final 150 Metres, HIGHLILLI had difficulty obtaining clear running and because of this was not properly tested. Passing the 100 Metres, W M Lai (BRAVE KNIGHT) dropped his right rein and because of this was disadvantaged in riding the horse out while he was re-gathering the rein. Over the concluding stages, when giving ground, GREAT ACHIEVEMENT hung in. Throughout the race, GREAT ACHIEVEMENT raced wide and without cover. BULB KING, FIRM OFFER and CLASSA FOR EVER were sent for sampling.
