Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, it was noted QI'S PET had lost its left front plate. The horse was re-plated behind the barriers and was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. QI'S PET was slow to begin, then shortly afterwards blundered after striking the heels of GOOD VIEW SUCCESS which shifted in after being bumped by SUPER BALL which in turn was crowded for room inside RARE COLLECTION which itself was steadied after being carried in by WIN FORTUNE which got its head on the side and shifted ground. In the early stages, WINNING PARADE hung in. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, GOOD VIEW SUCCESS was checked and shifted out to avoid the heels of WINNING PARADE which lost ground after becoming unbalanced and bumping the running rail when tight inside SUPER BALL which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in. When GOOD VIEW SUCCESS checked, it then shifted out, causing RARE COLLECTION to be steadied away from its heels. GOOD VIEW SUCCESS then continued to hang out. Also making the turn at the 700 Metres, CHINA WORLD bumped the running rail. Apprentice C W Wong (WINNING PARADE) reported he dropped his whip at the 600 Metres. D Whyte (SUPREMACY) said the horse had been fractious in the barriers and began only fairly. He said he then rode SUPREMACY along to obtain a forward position, however, the horse at no stage travelled comfortably for him and in his opinion did not appreciate being hit with kickback. He said as the race progressed SUPREMACY was reluctant to stride out and near the 400 Metres commenced to get its head up and give ground. He said after this because of the manner in which SUPREMACY was racing and the fact it was obvious the horse was well beaten he did not ride it out as he normally would. SUPREMACY was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, SUPREMACY was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had bled from both nostrils. SUPERSONIC and SOUND OF SILENCE were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 2 June 2005)
RARE COLLECTION was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon at the stables of Trainer Y O Wong this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse was lame in the left front leg. RARE COLLECTION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
