Racing Incident Report

DEFLECT, which was standing badly, was slow to begin. On jumping, GLOBE RIVER, HAPPY TOGETHER and PLENTY OF HEART were crowded for room between LASER GLORY which shifted in slightly and KAO AND MING which shifted out. Near the 1000 Metres, PLENTY OF HEART bumped with AMERICAN VICTORY. After this, PLENTY OF HEART proved somewhat difficult to settle. At the 800 Metres, STOIC was steadied away from the heels of AMERICAN VICTORY. Approaching the 300 Metres, MR BEAUTIFUL was steadied when crowded for room between PLENTY OF HEART and TURF GOLD which when giving ground drifted in slightly. Shortly after this, MR BEAUTIFUL, which was still awkwardly placed close to the heels of TURF GOLD which was continuing to give ground, was checked when crowded for room outside PLENTY OF HEART which initially shifted out and then was carried out further by DEFLECT (S K Sit) which shifted ground. The Stewards believed there were contributing circumstances to the incident, however, S K Sit was severely reprimanded and advised he would be expected to exercise greater care. At the 300 Metres, PURPLE GOLD became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of HAPPY TOGETHER. Over the concluding stages, AMERICAN VICTORY and CLEAN SWEEP raced tight. HAPPY TOGETHER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of HAPPY TOGETHER after the race did not show any significant findings. AMERICAN VICTORY and CLEAN SWEEP were sent for sampling.
