Racing Incident Report

ELITE WIN, which was drawn a gate towards the outside, began awkwardly, became unbalanced and lost ground. After this, ELITE WIN was shifted across behind runners. On jumping, MR BEAUTIFUL and DENDRANTHEMA LOVE lost ground when crowded for room between DANSOLDE which shifted in and STAR OF NORTHERN which got its head on the side and shifted out. Shortly after the start, HAPPY WINNING was steadied when crowded for room between VITAL PATROL which shifted out and HARRY HARRY which shifted in away from LIAOBUQI. After the 1400 Metres, LIAOBUQI was steadied when crowded for room inside FAT CHOY FOREVER (Apprentice K W Tsui) which shifted across to lead when not properly clear. Apprentice Tsui was severely reprimanded and told he must ensure he is properly clear of other runners before shifting ground. HAPPY WINNING made the Home Turn awkwardly and shifted out. Throughout the race, DANSOLDE raced wide and without cover and from the 600 Metres gave ground. G Schofield (SPECTACULAR TIMES) said his mount began well, however, shortly afterwards commenced to lose ground. He said he rode SPECTACULAR TIMES along, but on a number of occasions the horse became unbalanced and his opinion did not handle today's soft track conditions. SPECTACULAR TIMES was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SPECTACULAR TIMES after the race did not show any significant findings. VITAL PATROL and CLEAN SWEEP were sent for sampling.
