Racing Incident Report

CITY GLORY bounded in the air at the start, bumped the inside gate of its stall and lost ground. HENNESSY DAYS and DONGGUAN VICTORY were slow to begin. In the early stages, SUPER CATCHER from the outside barrier raced wide and was hard ridden to go forward and cross to the lead at the 1100 Metres. At the 1300 Metres, MILLENNIUM DAWN was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of JUST IN TIME. After the 600 Metres, NATURAL MODEL raced close to the heels of NOBLE ZOOM. On straightening, EL PRADO STAR was bumped by COSMO STAR which was carried wider by MILLENNIUM DAWN. At the 300 Metres, CITY GLORY was shifted out to avoid the heels of SUPER CATCHER which was giving ground. For the major part of the race, BAUHINIA raced wide and without cover. C Munce (NEW CENTURY) was unable to offer any explanation for the poor performance of the horse. He said NEW CENTURY from its wide gate went back as expected in the early stages, he endeavoured to obtain a position behind COSMO STAR, hoping that horse would carry him forward at a later stage. He said however at the 600 Metres he commenced to place NEW CENTURY under pressure, the horse failed to respond to his riding, he then at about the 500 Metres pulled the whip on the horse, but it did not respond and was most disappointing. NEW CENTURY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of NEW CENTURY after the race did not show any significant findings. BAUHINIA, FUN CRUISER and NOBLE ZOOM were sent for sampling.
