Racing Incident Report
HARRY HARRY was withdrawn on 7.4.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter MYTHIC STEED (R Fradd). Before being allowed to race again, HARRY HARRY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TO THE POINT began awkwardly, bumped the inside gate of its stall and lost ground. CARE FREE PRINCE got its head up on jumping and lost ground. FILEBO was slow to begin. TELECOM TYCOON was a little slow to begin and shortly afterwards was bumped by GRABBIT which shifted out. As a consequence, TELECOM TYCOON lost ground and after this travelled in a rearward position. In the early stages, GRABBIT proved difficult to settle. At the 1200 Metres, SPEEDING MOLLY became unbalanced and shifted in after being bumped by GRABBIT. At the 1100 Metres, CHINA SPORTFIELD got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of CRUSADER OF GOLD. Near the 800 Metres, GRABBIT was steadied away from the heels of ELFHELM which at this time was steadied when awkwardly placed between CRUSADER OF GOLD and EYE WITNESS which shifted in slightly when coming back to obtain a position with cover behind SPARKLE. FILEBO, which was following GRABBIT, was steadied away from the heels of that horse. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, CHINA SPORTFIELD got its head up and hung out. Prior to straightening, EYE WITNESS was bumped by CRUSADER OF GOLD which shifted out in an endeavour to find clear running. After this, EYE WITNESS hung out making the turn and in the Straight. On straightening, FILEBO and WAIT FOR ME became unbalanced after bumping when FILEBO endeavoured to shift to the outside of CARE FREE PRINCE into clear running. After the 400 Metres, SPEEDING MOLLY was momentarily steadied away from the heels of ELFHELM. Throughout the race, MYTHIC STEED travelled wide and without cover. E Saint-Martin (WAIT FOR ME) explained in the Straight he commenced to ride his mount along hands and heels and it responded fairly. He said at the 300 Metres WAIT FOR ME commenced to hang out, because of this he changed the whip into his left hand, however, his reins became entangled when he did this. He said he continued to ride WAIT FOR ME along hands and heels until after the 200 Metres when he had been able to correct his reins, he then endeavoured to turn the whip into the forehand position, however, when doing so he dropped it. He said after this he rode WAIT FOR ME out hands and heels to the end of the race, however, the horse in his opinion only closed the race off fairly. GRABBIT was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of GRABBIT after the race did not show any significant findings. EYE WITNESS and CRUSADER OF GOLD were sent for sampling.
