Racing Incident Report

TIME SUPREME and COURAGEOUSHEART were slow to begin. ELEGANT KING PRAWN jumped out at the start, resulting in MASTER MARAUDER and JADE DRAGONFLY being hampered. After this, despite being ridden along, MASTER MARAUDER failed to muster pace. In the early and middle stages, CALIFORNIA LUCK proved difficult to settle and hung out, then passing the 700 Metres commenced to hang out badly and in the Straight tailed out. CALIFORNIA LUCK was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, CALIFORNIA LUCK was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. The performance of CALIFORNIA LUCK was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CALIFORNIA LUCK will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Rounding the Home Turn, TIME SUPREME was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CHATER SILK and then in the early part of the Straight was shifted out to obtain clear running. Over the concluding stages, TIME SUPREME hung in under pressure. Near the 100 Metres, ABLE STANDARD, which was weakening, was momentarily crowded for room inside GALLANT KNIGHT which itself was taken in by ELEGANT KING PRAWN which shifted in slightly. COURAGEOUSHEART was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, COURAGEOUSHEART was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. JADE DRAGONFLY, TIME SUPREME and REGAL THRILLS were sent for sampling.
