Racing Incident Report

CHOICE AND CHANCE began awkwardly, causing Apprentice C K Tong, its rider, to become unbalanced. As a consequence, CHOICE AND CHANCE lost a considerable amount of ground. On jumping, BRILLIANT FLASH was bumped with NICE KING. After the 900 Metres, TOWERING FEELING was left racing wide and without cover. On straightening, RELY ON ME became unbalanced when awkwardly placed inside the heels of FLORAL PRINCE. In the early part of the Straight, BULLDOZER got its head on the side and hung in, then near the 300 Metres was inconvenienced when FLORAL PRINCE shifted out. For the majority of the Home Straight, NICE KING did not obtain clear running, at the 400 Metres was steadied away from the heels of BULLDOZER and at the 100 Metres was steadied when disappointed for running between BULLDOZER and TAIJI SPIRIT. RELY ON ME was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, RELY ON ME was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, RELY ON ME will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TOWERING FEELING, WALKONTHEWILDSIDE and SKYVIEW BAR were sent for sampling.
