Racing Incident Report

AMBITIOUS MARJU was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, DRAGON INN was steadied when crowded for room between CLASSIC KING and DANEPRINT which on jumping shifted out, then in the early stages travelled wide and without cover. For a considerable distance after straightening, AMBITIOUS MARJU had difficulty obtaining clear running between DRAGON INN and CLASSIC KING, then after the 200 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by NATURAL ECHO which got its head on the side and shifted out. At the 300 Metres, DANEPRINT was steadied when awkwardly placed between AMBITIOUS MARJU and NATURAL ECHO. Near the 200 Metres, DANEPRINT was again steadied when disappointed for running between AMBITIOUS MARJU and NATURAL ECHO. Then over the concluding stages, DANEPRINT was not able to obtain clear running and as a consequence was not fully tested. At the 200 Metres, STAR OF NORTHERN, which was commencing to give ground after travelling wide and without cover for the major part of the race, was steadied when momentarily crowded for room between CLASSIC KING and CHINA SPORTFIELD which was carried out by KNIGHT TEMPLAR. Also at the 200 Metres, NAVIGATE UNICORN was steadied away from the heels of DANEPRINT which shifted in. G Mossé (NATURAL ECHO) explained in the run to the winning post he was awkwardly placed inside the heels of KNIGHT TEMPLAR which was gradually shifting in and because of this he did not ride his mount out to the end of the race. When questioned, S K Sit (UNIVERSAL KOMISSAR), which today was stepping up to a distance of 1600 Metres and was again wearing blinkers, said from a wide barrier he had been instructed to go forward in the early stages to avoid being caught wide. He said he was additionally told that after crossing should other runners improve around his outside he should obtain a position with cover, however, if the tempo of the race was suitable and other runners did not cross him he should maintain a position in the lead. STAR OF NORTHERN was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of STAR OF NORTHERN after the race did not show any significant findings. CLASSIC KING and UNIVERSAL KOMISSAR were sent for sampling.
