Racing Incident Report

After arriving in the saddling stalls, KIWI DASH had its left front plate reset and MULTIMIGHTY had its right front plate reset. Both horses are examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion they were suitable to race. KING OF SHAVER was slow to begin. SOHNA began awkwardly and in the early stages travelled wide and without cover. On jumping, CHINSOLA was crowded for room between PERFECT ATHLETE and MULTO EXPRESSO, both of which shifted ground. Shortly after the start, BAAZIGAR was steadied when crowded for room between CHATER DE LAGO and FLYING WIN. Near the 800 Metres, PERFECT ATHLETE, which was hanging, initially shifted out and made contact with the hindquarters of MULTO EXPRESSO. As a consequence of this contact, MULTO EXPRESSO became unbalanced, shifted in and caused crowding on its inside to PERFECT ATHLETE which as a result was severely checked. When PERFECT ATHLETE checked, inconvenience was caused to the following runners: KING OF SHAVER, CHINSOLA and BAAZIGAR were severely checked and BUTTERFIELD was checked. Inconvenience was also caused to TELECOM TYCOON and KIWI DASH. Although the incident was one of some significance, in the circumstances no action was taken. After the 600 Metres, BAAZIGAR was steadied away from the heels of PERFECT ATHLETE. Near the 500 Metres, CHINSOLA was checked when disappointed for running between BUTTERFIELD and CHATER DE LAGO. On straightening, KIWI DASH was steadied and shifted in away from the heels of TELECOM TYCOON. In the early part of the Straight, FLYING WIN was bumped and carried wider by TELECOM TYCOON which shifted out After the 200 Metres, KING OF SHAVER shifted out and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MULTO EXPRESSO. Over the concluding stages, BAAZIGAR hung in. Throughout the race, PERFECT ATHLETE hung out, on a number of occasions became unbalanced and in the Straight gave ground. The performance of PERFECT ATHLETE was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, PERFECT ATHLETE will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial around a bend and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. C Soumillon (KING OF SHAVER) was reminded of his responsibilities to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race where possible. When questioned regarding the poor performance of SOHNA, G Mossé said at no stage did the horse stride out as he thought it should. SOHNA was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, SOHNA was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said there were no significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, SOHNA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CHATER DE LAGO and PERFECT ATHLETE were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, CHATER DE LAGO was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was making an abnormal breathing noise. A veterinary inspection of PERFECT ATHLETE after the race did not show any significant findings. KINGSGATE GLORY and BUTTERFIELD were sent for sampling.
