Racing Incident Report
FLYING KENNY was withdrawn on 8.5.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, FLYING KENNY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After arriving at the Start, it was noted LUCKY DRAGON had some blood in its mouth. The tongue tie fitted to LUCKY DRAGON was adjusted. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. CALL ME CULLEN was slowly away and shortly afterwards was steadied away from the heels of SALUT BEAUTE which shifted out. LUCKY DRAGON began awkwardly and lost ground. TREASURABLE was slow to begin. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, NOBLE ZOOM failed to muster speed. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, LUCKY DRAGON got its head up and hung out. Near the 900 Metres, TATTENHALL DELIGHT was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of LUCKY DRAGON which at this time shifted in. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, TREASURABLE and NEW TRIUMPH bumped. Prior to straightening, TATTENHALL DELIGHT was steadied away from the heels of LUCKY DRAGON. Throughout the race, SALUT BEAUTE travelled wide and without cover. B Prebble (TREASURABLE) said the horse raced ungenerously as it had done in the past. He said in the early and middle stages TREASURABLE would not relax and because of this when close to the heels of VALUE CHOICE he had to continually restrain his mount for some distance. He said as a consequence of this TREASURABLE failed to finish the race off and in the Straight hung in. He did say in his opinion the poor performance of TREASURABLE was attributable to the manner in which it raced. TREASURABLE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TREASURABLE after the race did not show any significant findings. WINE WIN and MARVELLOUS were sent for sampling.
