Racing Incident Report
MAGIC TEMPLE was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, MAGIC CHARIOT attempted to buck and lost a considerable amount of ground. Some inconvenience was caused to MAGIC TEMPLE which was following. Before being allowed to race again, MAGIC CHARIOT will have to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial. Near the 1100 Metres, BOOMING CITY was checked when crowded for room between GOLD MEDAL WINNER which shifted in and INDUSTRIAL MARVEL which was carried out slightly by OCEAN TRANQUIL. No action was taken. Approaching the turn at the 700 Metres, OCEAN TRANQUIL was steadied away from the heels of KINGS CROSS which at this time steadied to allow KIMBO KID to cross. In the middle stages, DASHING WINNER hung out. In the early part of the Straight, KINGS CROSS had difficulty obtaining clear running and near the 300 Metres was struck over the nose on two occasions by the whip of W M Lai (GOLD MEDAL WINNER). KINGS CROSS continued to have difficulty obtaining clear running and near the 250 Metres was shifted to the inside of KIMBO KID. When improving into a narrow run on the inside of KIMBO KID at the 150 Metres, KINGS CROSS was momentarily crowded for room. At the 150 Metres, INDUSTRIAL MARVEL was steadied and shifted to the outside of SUPREMACY to continue going forward. The performance of EMBRACES, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, EMBRACES will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MAGIC CHARIOT and EMBRACES were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of MAGIC CHARIOT and EMBRACES after the race did not show any significant findings. OCEAN TRANQUIL, GOLD MEDAL WINNER and KINGS CROSS were sent for sampling.
