Racing Incident Report
NATURAL FATCHOY was withdrawn on 23.5.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore foot) and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter MY LANSON (Apprentice K L Chui). SEVENS HEAVEN was also withdrawn on 23.5.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter CHAMPION PIONEER (S Dye). Before being allowed to race again, NATURAL FATCHOY and SEVENS HEAVEN will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MAKE A MINT proved very difficult to box, then after being boxed became fractious and attempted to break out underneath the front gates of its stall after initially having its left hind leg caught on a platform inside the barrier. MAKE A MINT was withdrawn by order of the Stewards after having caused a considerable delay to the start. Before being allowed to race again, MAKE A MINT will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After being loaded, RICH FOR ALL became fractious and had its left hind leg momentarily caught on a platform inside the barrier. RICH FOR ALL was removed from the stall and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. CONQUEROR and SPOKESMAN were slow to begin. Shortly after the start, MY LANSON was bumped by CHAMPION PIONEER which shifted out after being bumped by FORTUNE WHEEL. After the 1000 Metres, FAST WINNER was left racing without cover. After the 800 Metres, CONQUEROR got its head up when being checked away from the heels of SPOKESMAN. After the 600 Metres, DELIGHTFUL WIN was steadied when close to the heels of FORTUNE WHEEL. In the early part of the Straight, CHAMPION PIONEER hung out. After the 300 Metres, SOLDIER ON hung out. Because of this, B Prebble changed the whip into his left hand. At the 200 Metres, B Prebble changed the whip back to his right hand. CONQUEROR and FORTUNE WHEEL were sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of CONQUEROR and FORTUNE WHEEL after the race did not show any significant findings. RICH FOR ALL and SOLDIER ON were sent for sampling.
