Racing Incident Report

ENGINEERING WONDER and WINNESSY were slow to begin. CHIMERA began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped BEAUTY PLUS. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, MAGI JOY failed to muster speed. Near the 1100 Metres, DIM SUM was steadied away from the heels of FLYING SPRINTER. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, SUPER HONEY and SIAMERIC TE SPECSO bumped when racing tight inside FLYING SPRINTER which itself was tight inside WINE WIN which had its head on the side and hung in away from DRAGON AND GOLD. At the same time, ENGINEERING WONDER was steadied when crowded for room inside BEAUTY PLUS which was carried in by DIM SUM which shifted when being steadied away from the heels of FLYING SPRINTER. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, DIM SUM became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of SUPER HONEY which itself was steadied away from the heels of WINE WIN. ENGINEERING WONDER, which was following DIM SUM, was steadied in consequence. At the 600 Metres, FLYING SPRINTER was left racing without cover. After the 300 Metres, DIM SUM was steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running between SIAMERIC TE SPECSO and DRAGON AND GOLD which shifted out after being bumped by SUPER HONEY which at this time shifted to the outside of WINE WIN into clear running. After the 200 Metres, MAGI JOY was hampered and carried wider by WINNESSY which shifted out. After the 100 Metres, SIAMERIC TE SPECSO, which was giving ground, became unbalanced when being steadied to avoid the heels of DIM SUM (D Nikolic) which shifted out when not properly clear. D Nikolic was reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. D Whyte (DRAGON AND GOLD) said his mount travelled only fairly throughout the race and approaching the turn at the 600 Metres he endeavoured to improve his position to race outside WINE WIN, however, his mount was not travelling well enough to do so. He said after this DRAGON AND GOLD failed to respond to his riding and was most disappointing. ENCORE WIN was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. FLYING SPRINTER and DRAGON AND GOLD were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ENCORE WIN, FLYING SPRINTER and DRAGON AND GOLD after the race did not show any significant findings. SUPER HONEY and DIM SUM were sent for sampling.
