Racing Incident Report
After being loaded, WELL NOTED momentarily had its right hind leg caught on the platform inside the starting stall. WELL NOTED was removed from the stall and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. On jumping, MUTUAL FUN, FINGERS CROSSED, O'REILLY RALLY and HONEST TREASURE were all crowded for room outside FRIENDSHIP which shifted out abruptly. As a result of this incident, MUTUAL FUN was turned inwards, causing FINGERS CROSSED to be checked severely. Also O'REILLY RALLY and HONEST TREASURE lost ground. Near the 900 Metres, MUTUAL FUN got its head up when being steadied in an endeavour to find a position with cover. Y T Cheng (JOLLY WONGCHOY) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 800 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of FINGERS CROSSED, causing that horse to lose its rightful running and be checked. Y T Cheng was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday 29 October 2007 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday 21 October 2007. In addition, Y T Cheng was fined $35,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating one further raceday. At the 700 Metres, OCEAN TRANQUIL was carried wider by O'REILLY RALLY. After the 400 Metres, JOLLY WONGCHOY was steadied and shifted out to obtain clear running. Near the winning post, ENTHUSED was brushed by MUTUAL FUN which shifted in. Throughout the race, WELL NOTED travelled wide and without cover. O'REILLY RALLY was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of O'REILLY RALLY after the race did not show any significant findings. MUTUAL FUN and ENTHUSED were sent for sampling.
