Racing Incident Report
VINCERE began a little awkwardly and then despite being ridden along failed to muster speed in the early stages. VINTAGE GOLD was slow to begin and then throughout the race travelled wide and without cover. Near the 1400 Metres, SOLAR, which was carried in by VINCERE (D Beadman), was steadied away from the heels of LAZY BUDDIES. D Beadman was told to exercise greater care. After the 1000 Metres, SAMBUOYANT shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of SUPER IDEAL. GALAXY DANCER and LAZY BUDDIES, which were following, were hampered in consequence. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, SOLAR, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up and shifted out away from the heels of GALAXY DANCER. This caused some inconvenience to VINCERE which was carried wider. After the 600 Metres, LAZY BUDDIES became unbalanced and lost ground after being bumped by SOLAR which got its head on the side and shifted out after initially being bumped by GALAXY DANCER which at this time was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of SUPER IDEAL which lost ground when awkwardly placed inside the heels of VINTAGE GOLD which shifted in momentarily. In the circumstances, no action was taken. After the 300 Metres, SUPER IDEAL was shifted to the outside of VINTAGE GOLD to continue going forward. Over the concluding stages, PALETTE THE BEST, which was inclined to lay out, raced tight inside SPACED. Also over the concluding stages, SUPER IDEAL hung in. Y T Cheng (SPACED) was advised to exercise care when making celebratory gestures after passing the winning post. SUPER FANTASY and LAZY BUDDIES were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SUPER FANTASY and LAZY BUDDIES after the race did not show any significant findings. SPACED and PALETTE THE BEST were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported GALAXY DANCER had lost its left hind plate.
