Racing Incident Report

PLEZAYRE, which was standing with its head turned to the left, began awkwardly, bumped the outside gate of its stall and lost ground. In the early stages, FLORAL PRINCE and MAGIC CHARIOT were taken across behind runners. At the 900 Metres, MAGIC CHARIOT was hampered and carried in when bumped by CRYSTAL (Apprentice C W Wong) which shifted in. In the circumstances, Apprentice Wong was severely reprimanded and advised against a repetition. In the early part of the Straight, KINGS CROSS was reluctant to shift to the outside of PLEZAYRE into clear running. After the 100 Metres, FLORAL PRINCE was steadied when disappointed for running between HAPPY GO LUCKY which shifted out slightly and MAGIC CHARIOT which shifted in away from the heels of SIAMERIC TE SPECSO. Over the concluding stages, HAPPY GO LUCKY was not able to obtain clear running, therefore was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. When questioned regarding the improved performance of GENERAL DANSKE, Trainer K W Lui said as instanced in the incidents report at its most recent start, the horse was found to have a substantial amount of blood in its trachea. He said following the race GENERAL DANSKE had undergone treatment to remedy this problem and he believed that the horse’s improved performance was solely attributable to it having responded to that treatment. MAGIC CHARIOT was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of MAGIC CHARIOT after the race did not show any significant findings. KINGS CROSS, GENERAL DANSKE and TAIJI SPIRIT were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 15 November 2007)
MAGIC CHARIOT, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. MAGIC CHARIOT was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C W Chang this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the left front foot. Before being allowed to race again, MAGIC CHARIOT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
