Racing Incident Report

After being boxed, DANESIS became fractious and reared. In the early stages, FUJIAN PRINCE and LUCKY CHAMPION were taken across behind runners. At the 800 Metres, WADADELIGHT lost ground when steadied as a result of being disappointed for running between MAN IN THE MIRROR and COURAGEOUSHEART. After the 800 Metres, LUCKY CHAMPION was left racing wide without cover. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, NASA PEARL blundered when awkwardly placed close to the heels of KING HESPERUS which was steadied when disappointed for running between TACTIC KING and COURAGEOUSHEART which at this time shifted in slightly. EVERGREEN, which was following NASA PEARL, was steadied in consequence. No action was taken. When questioned, D Beadman (COURAGEOUSHEART) explained approaching the turn at the 700 Metres he momentarily shifted out from behind DANESIS. He said when he did this he noticed KING HESPERUS commenced to improve on his inside and he then shifted back to a position behind DANESIS. He said as he did this MAN IN THE MIRROR improved around his outside quickly. D Beadman was told his riding at this stage of the race had come under notice and he should at all times be aware of other horses improving their positions around him. KING HESPERUS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of KING HESPERUS after the race did not show any significant findings. DANESIS, MAN IN THE MIRROR and LUCKY CHAMPION were sent for sampling.
