Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the Start, it was noted JADE DRAGONFLY had its tongue over the bit. This was corrected prior to the horse being loaded. When the gates opened, TIME SUPREME stood flat-footed and lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, TIME SUPREME will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. As the start was effected, FELLOWSHIP turned its head to the left and as a consequence was slow to begin. SUPREME GAINS was slow to begin. In the early stages, HAWKES BAY proved difficult to settle. Also in the early stages, MAVERICK STAR proved difficult to settle and after the 1400 Metres got its head up and shifted out abruptly when being steadied away from the heels of HAWKES BAY. After this, MAVERICK STAR pulled its way into a forward position. Just prior to straightening, JADE DRAGONFLY was checked when disappointed for running between SUPREME GAINS and HORACE’S CHOICE which got its head on the side and shifted in momentarily. No action was taken. From the 400 Metres until the 200 Metres, JADE DRAGONFLY had difficulty obtaining clear running. After the 400 Metes, SUPREME GAINS was steadied when disappointed for running between FANTASTIC DANCER which was giving ground and FLYING TAMARI which shifted in. After this, SUPREME GAINS had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 100 Metres and because of this was not fully tested. DORDENMA was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of DORDENMA after the race did not show any significant findings. HAWKES BAY and FELLOWSHIP were sent for sampling.
