Racing Incident Report
SPARKLE was slow to begin. MACAROON began awkwardly, bumped the inside gate of its stall and lost ground. From a wide barrier, SUPER POWER was taken across behind runners. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, SPARKLE, which initially had been inclined to shift in behind MACAROON and was then being shifted out, raced tight inside RISING WIN (Z Purton) which was shifting in. Z Purton was severely reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he would be expected to show greater respect to his fellow riders. Approaching the 1300 Metres, FISHKING EXCELLENT was checked when momentarily crowded for room inside WINNING PATTERN which got its head on the side and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. No action was taken. At the 100 Metres, SUPER POWER was steadied when disappointed for running between FABULOUS TREASURE and SPARKLE, both of which shifted ground. RISING WIN was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of RISING WIN after the race did not show any significant findings. STRIKE TO WIN and FISHKING EXCELLENT were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported FABULOUS TREASURE had lost its right front plate.
