Racing Incident Report

HURRICANE WAY bounded in the air at the start and was then taken across behind runners. HONG KONG GEM was slow to begin. On jumping, KAISER’S CHOIX was bumped by LORD CAIRNS. In the early stages, despite being ridden along, ENERGETIC BOY was not able to maintain its position, then over about the last 100 Metres when making ground was not able to obtain clear running and as a consequence was not ridden out to the end of the race. Also in the early stages, FANTASTIC WIN travelled wide and without cover. After the 800 Metres, KAISER’S CHOIX travelled keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CITY SURFER. Approaching the 400 Metres, KAISER’S CHOIX was checked when disappointed for running between CITY SURFER and TABBRIS which was giving ground. FANTASTIC WIN, which was following, was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of KAISER’S CHOIX and in doing so carried DENDRANTHEMA LOVE wider. The performance of TABBRIS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, TABBRIS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LORD CAIRNS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LORD CAIRNS after the race did not show any significant findings. WINNING PATTERN, SPARKLE and HURRICANE WAY were sent for sampling.
