Racing Incident Report

CIRCUIT HERO was withdrawn on 13.6.08 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore capped elbow) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter GOOD DISHES. Before being allowed to race again, CIRCUIT HERO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. NEEDLES AND THREAD and BLUE SKY were slow to begin. On jumping, WHISKY POWER and GOOD DISHES were crowded for room between SCOOT DA LOOT and BULB KING, both of which shifted ground. Passing the 400 Metres, BULB KING was eased out of the race. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported BULB KING had bled from both nostrils. Near the 200 Metres, SCOOT DA LOOT, which was closing the race off fairly, was steadied and shifted in away from the heels of BELONG TO CASA which was giving ground. When questioned regarding the poor performance of WHISKY POWER, M W Leung explained after being crowded at the start his mount at no stage felt comfortable in its action. He said the intention was to have WHISKY POWER ridden in a forward position as it is felt the horse is not best suited when following other runners back in the field. WHISKY POWER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WHISKY POWER after the race did not show any significant findings. SILENT DRAGON, HIGH MARK and MACHO EXPRESSO were sent for sampling.
