Racing Incident Report

CRAIG’S DRAGON began awkwardly. On jumping, PLAN B got its head up when being taken back. Shortly after the start, WIN AGAIN, which had been a little slow to begin, was checked when crowded for room between WADADELIGHT and RARE TREASURE which shifted out. In the early stages, RARE TREASURE proved difficult to settle. DUMBARTON ROCK made the turn at the 800 Metres awkwardly and shifted out. At the 800 Metres, RICH DRAGON was steadied away from the heels of CRAIG’S DRAGON. W C Marwing (TOY STORY)) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the winning post he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of PLAN B, causing that horse to lose its rightful running and be checked. W C Marwing was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday 9 October 2008 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting next Wednesday 1 October 2008. In the Straight, BRILLIANT CHAPTER hung in. For the major part of the race, WADADELIGHT travelled wide and without cover. RARE TREASURE was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, RARE TREASURE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, RARE TREASURE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HEARTLINE and TOY STORY were sent for sampling.
