Racing Incident Report

From the outside barrier, EXTRA SPECIAL was taken back on jumping. Shortly after the start, THE WORLD OF LOVE was checked when crowded for room between OCEAN WIDE which began awkwardly and shifted out and BEAUTIFUL DREAMER which initially was bumped by THE WORLD OF LOVE and then shifted in after bumping with CONGRATULATION. No action was taken. Also shortly after the start, CENTURY SUPER STAR was checked when crowded for room between KINDACROSS and LUMINOUS which got its head on the side and shifted in abruptly. LUMINOUS lost ground when it was being straightened to relieve the pressure it was applying to CENTURY SUPER STAR. In the early and middle stages, DREAM HORSE travelled wide and without cover. Near the 500 Metres, CENTURY SUPER STAR was steadied and shifted to the outside of LUMINOUS to commence improving. At the 100 Metres, LUMINOUS was checked and shifted out to avoid the heels of CONGRATULATION which became unbalanced and lost ground while being steadied when awkwardly placed between BEAUTIFUL DREAMER and ENCORE WIN. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, W C Marwing (THE WORLD OF LOVE) explained he remained racing towards the inside rounding the Home Turn. He said after straightening he commenced to ride his mount along hands and heels and it responded fairly to his riding. He said near the 200 Metres it appeared he would have difficulty obtaining clear running, therefore he continued to ride his mount along hands and heels until clear running presented itself near the 100 Metres. He said at that stage the run of THE WORLD OF LOVE had in his opinion come to an end and therefore he continued riding his mount out hands and heels to the end of the race. He said the manner in which THE WORLD OF LOVE ran indicated to him that the horse would derive benefit from tonight’s race. W C Marwing was told his explanation would be reported, however, he should ensure that horses ridden by him are properly tested. OCEAN WIDE, BEAUTIFUL DREAMER and KINDACROSS were sent for sampling.
