Racing Incident Report

NOBLE CHOICE, which made contact with a rail when being led onto the track, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the barriers who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. As the gates opened, ALWAYS SOMETHING put its head down, began awkwardly and as a consequence lost ground. FLYING CHINA was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, HO HAPPY was momentarily crowded for room between EVER BEAUTY which was taken in by SMART CURRENCY and DA JUDGE which shifted out. Near the 400 Metres, HO HAPPY was steadied away from the heels of SMART CURRENCY (Apprentice M Chadwick) which shifted out. Apprentice Chadwick was advised to exercise care. A veterinary inspection of EVER BEAUTY after the race revealed that the horse had bled from both nostrils. A veterinary inspection of SMART CURRENCY after the race did not show any significant findings. TAVERNER and SHY BALDY were sent for sampling.
