Racing Incident Report
On arrival at the barriers, BUNDLE O’ GOLD was found to have its tongue over the bit. This was corrected prior to the horse entering the barrier stalls. Passing the 800 Metres, after initially crossing EL MORRO when sufficiently clear, BUNDLE O’ GOLD was steadied by its rider, B Prebble, resulting in EL MORRO becoming awkwardly placed close to the heels of BUNDLE O’ GOLD, shifting out and bumping HOLEY DOLLAR which became unbalanced. B Prebble was told to ensure that he does not steady so as to make it awkward for runners following his mounts. For a short distance near the 300 Metres, GRAND STORE raced tight between WINE WIN and DIAMOND BRILLIANCE. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of BUNDLE O’ GOLD, B Prebble stated that after crossing to the lead, his mount relaxed well and travelled kindly for him in the early stages. He said however at the 500 Metres BUNDLE O’ GOLD commenced to get its head up and from this point onwards did not stretch out as he thought it would. He stated that, in his opinion, BUNDLE O’ GOLD felt like it was not appreciating today’s track conditions. A veterinary inspection of BUNDLE O’ GOLD after the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, BUNDLE O’ GOLD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. EL MORRO and CONFUCIUS CLASSIC were sent for sampling.
