Racing Incident Report
On arrival at the holding area after being transported from the Olympic stable, it was noted that FLEET COMMAND had shifted its right front plate. This plate was refitted. FLEET COMMAND was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. As the start was effected, YUMMY SPIRITS lifted its feet off the ground and consequently lost ground. SPECIAL DAYS began awkwardly. EXPRESS WIN was crowded for room at the start between AASHIQ and ABLE ONE, both of which shifted ground. Shortly after the start, THUMBS UP was checked and VITAL FLYER hampered when crowded for room between EGYPTIAN RA which shifted in and CHATER WAY which shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. Near the 1200 Metres, ROMPING was restrained away from the heels of SUNNY KING and lost ground when that horse was taken in by ABLE ONE (D Beadman) which shifted in when not properly clear. D Beadman was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. For some distance approaching the 1000 Metres, CHATER WAY raced tight inside VITAL FLYER which at this time was taken in by EGYPTIAN RA which got its head on the side and shifted in away from TUSCAN SPIRIT despite the efforts of its rider. For some distance approaching the 900 Metres, YUMMY SPIRITS raced ungenerously and got its head up on a number of occasions when being steadied away from the heels of FLEET COMMAND. Near the 50 Metres, FLEET COMMAND shifted in under pressure, resulting in YUMMY SPIRITS being inconvenienced. Throughout the race, ENTHUSED travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection of ENTHUSED and CHATER WAY after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of VITAL FLYER after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. ABLE ONE and AASHIQ were sent for sampling. <17/6/2010 Additional Veterinary Report> ENTHUSED, which performed poorly, was examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison. He said at that time there were no significant findings. ENTHUSED was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Size this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, ENTHUSED will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Trainer S Woods reported to the Stable Veterinary Surgeon this morning that ROMPING was lame in its left front leg after racing. Before being allowed to race again, ROMPING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
