Racing Incident Report
BRAVE KID was difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, BRAVE KID will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. Passing the 300 Metres, VAUGIRARD got its head on the side and shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of CALIFORNIA MOON which itself shifted out slightly. VAUGIRARD continued to get its head on the side and lay in, resulting in Apprentice C Y Ho changing the whip into his right hand approaching the 200 Metres. When questioned, T Clark stated that he had been instructed to ride BRAVE KID, from the outside barrier, in a forward position as there did not appear to be much speed in the race. He said he had hoped that BRAVE KID would be able to obtain a position outside of the lead. He said in the early stages BRAVE KID, which was wearing blinkers for the first time, was able to go forward without having to be made use of and as he felt that the tempo of the race was only fair, he elected to continue into the lead on BRAVE KID. NATIONAL TREASURE, SUPREME WIN and FAT CHOY OOHLALA were sent for sampling.
