Racing Incident Report

GOOD STRIKE, which was fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin and then shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of XILAI XIANZI. TIME RUNNER was crowded for room at the start between KICK SERVE and FREE AND EASY which shifted in. Over the concluding stages, GOOD STRIKE was held up for clear running when attempting a tight run between FIVE CLUBS and KICK SERVE. Close to the finishing line, GOOD STRIKE and FIVE CLUBS were checked when crowded for room between KICK SERVE and FREE AND EASY, both of which shifted marginal ground. No further action was taken. Also close to the finishing line, T Clark (DREAM BUILDER) dropped his right rein. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that XILAI XIANZI had lost its left front plate. CHINA POWER and DREAM BUILDER were sent for sampling.
< 23/2/2012 Additional Veterinary Report> The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that XILAI XIANZI had a left eye corneal ulcer. Before being allowed to race again, XILAI XIANZI will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
