Racing Incident Report

FREE AND EASY was withdrawn on 17.4.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (sore right front tendon) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FRIENDS OF YAN OI (T Clark). Before being allowed to race again, FREE AND EASY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. On arrival at the barriers, LOVING ALL, which had made contact with a rail on the way to the Start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. SUNNY FAY was slow to begin. MEGA began awkwardly and lost ground. Passing the 800 Metres, RAINBOW FIGHTER, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of LOVING ALL which shifted in. Throughout the race, LOVING ALL travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. The performance of LOVING ALL, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, LOVING ALL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of MAGNUMOUS and LOVING ALL after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of MEGA including an endoscopic examination after the race confirmed the horse to be a “roarer”. MASTER RIO and SEA THE PEARLS were sent for sampling.
