Racing Incident Report
NAMJONG DELIGHTS was withdrawn on 24.11.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind) and was replaced by the Standby Declared Starter SEA FURY (Y T Cheng). Before being allowed to race again, NAMJONG DELIGHTS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After being loaded, BERLINSKI became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, BERLINSKI will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
INVICTUS, which blundered badly at the start, and SHARP PRINT were crowded for room on jumping between MULTIEXPRESS which shifted in and MEGA which began very awkwardly and shifted out. In this incident, MEGA, SHARP PRINT and INVICTUS all lost ground.
After the 800 Metres, MULTIEXPRESS shifted in and bumped FLYING TOGETHER.
Passing the 500 Metres, JADE PIPPO was steadied away from the heels of MR AWARD which, after being brushed by DISCIPLES TWELVE (D Whyte), got its head on the side and shifted out away from that horse. D Whyte was reprimanded and advised that whilst MR AWARD had contributed to the incident, nonetheless he had placed pressure on MR AWARD when obtaining a tight run between that horse and MULTIEXPRESS.
Near the 200 Metres, INVICTUS was steadied away from the heels of MEGA which shifted in away from the heels of NIGHTLIGN which itself was shifted to the inside of DIAMOND KNIGHT. For a short distance after this, INVICTUS was then held up for clear running.
R Fourie (WELL FIT) reported his saddle shifted back slightly on jumping.
When questioned, A Suborics stated that FLYING TOGETHER was inclined to hang out in the early stages, however, commenced to hang out badly after the 600 Metres. He said he attempted to ride his mount along after this point, however, the horse continued to hang out badly and because of this he was not able to ride it out at any stage over the final 400 Metres due to the manner in which it was racing. Trainer K L Man and representatives of the Rising Farm Syndicate, the owner of FLYING TOGETHER, were advised that having in mind the horse’s history of being barred for hanging in races, the Stewards would need to consider its suitability to continue racing in Hong Kong. The Stewards acceded to an application from the representatives of the Rising Farm Syndicate to discuss this matter with all Syndicate Members prior to the matter being finalised. A veterinary inspection of FLYING TOGETHER after the race revealed the horse to have a number of superficial abrasions to the outside of the left hind fetlock.
DISCIPLES TWELVE and WELL FIT were sent for sampling.
