Racing Incident Report
GENERAL IRON, which was leaning on the outside of its stall as the start was effected, was crowded for room shortly after the start between REGENCY CHAMPION and HIGHEST ACCLAIM which shifted in.
KICK SERVE shifted out shortly after the start and bumped GLAMOROUS RYDER which in turn was taken out onto SPITFIRE which became unbalanced.
From wide barriers, CHOICE TREASURE, ST YAZIN and HAPPY CHAMPION were all taken across behind runners shortly after the start and then shortly afterwards ST YAZIN was checked away from the heels of CHOICE TREASURE which got its head up and shifted out abruptly.
Approaching the 900 Metres, HIGHEST ACCLAIM was steadied away from the heels of TOMODACHI (C Y Ho) which shifted in when not properly clear. C Y Ho was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. For some distance after this, HIGHEST ACCLAIM travelled keenly and shifted ground when awkwardly placed close to the heels of TOMODACHI.
For the majority of the race, KICK SERVE travelled wide and without cover.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of MI SAVVY, O Doleuze stated that after being able to win first up this season, MI SAVVY was somewhat disappointing at its last start albeit that it travelled wide and without cover throughout the race. He said he was of the opinion that at its last run the horse was not concentrating and MI SAVVY raced in a similar manner tonight. He said he had to ride his mount along for some distance passing the 900 Metres in order to have it stay in touch, however, MI SAVVY was reluctant to stretch out. He added in the Straight MI SAVVY was disappointing in that, despite being ridden out, the horse did not quicken at any stage. He said he was of the belief that MI SAVVY may benefit from having the blinkers reapplied which he suggested that the connections consider in its future starts. He also said that having in mind MI SAVVY was able to win at its first run back from a break this season, the horse may race better when kept fresh. A veterinary inspection of MI SAVVY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of ST YAZIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
REGENCY CHAMPION and CHOICE TREASURE were sent for sampling.
