Racing Incident Report

RAINBOW SEEKER was withdrawn on 31.12.13 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, RAINBOW SEEKER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
MAGICAL BEAM was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (inappetence). Before being allowed to race again, MAGICAL BEAM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
RED ADVENTURE began only fairly.
CHARMGOLD began awkwardly.
From the outside barrier, DIAMOND START was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages, LOTUS LOVE failed to muster speed.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, SOLAR DRAGON, which was proving difficult to settle, shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of REALLY THE BEST which was being steadied to obtain cover behind BORNFREE.
Passing the 400 Metres, REALLY THE BEST was shifted to the inside of BORNFREE, which was commencing to give ground, after initially attempting a run to the outside of that horse and inside CHARMGOLD where there was insufficient room. In this incident, CHARMGOLD became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by REALLY THE BEST.
Throughout the race, CHARMGOLD travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that BORNFREE had bled from both nostrils.
A veterinary inspection of BOLERO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SOLAR DRAGON and SPECTACULAR AWARD were sent for sampling.
