Racing Incident Report
After being loaded, both REAL FIT and ROMANTIC CASH became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, REAL FIT and ROMANTIC CASH will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
ROMANTIC CASH began only fairly.
DRAGON ENERGY began awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with the hindquarters of ETERNAL GAINS. After this, DRAGON ENERGY was ridden along, however, failed to muster speed.
In the early stages, GLACIER BLUE was also ridden along, however, failed to muster speed.
From wide barriers, MISTER MARC and KING OF SMARTS were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Making the first turn at the 900 Metres, UNIQUE HAPPIEST was momentarily eased away from the heels of MULTI-WIN GENERAL which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of LOVELY BOY. After this, UNIQUE HAPPIEST got its head on the side and hung out.
Approaching the 200 Metres, WORLD CITY shifted in and brushed LOVELY BOY.
DRAGON ENERGY lost its left front plate at the 200 Metres.
For the majority of the race, LOVELY BOY travelled wide and without cover.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of REAL FIT, A Suborics stated that after being crossed by ROMANTIC CASH after the 800 Metres, REAL FIT was reluctant to maintain its position when racing inside LOVELY BOY, resulting in him having to ride his mount along. He said for this reason he shifted REAL FIT to the outside of ROMANTIC CASH prior to the 600 Metres to see whether REAL FIT may travel better when not behind another runner. He said however that REAL FIT continued to be reluctant to stretch out and appeared to him to resent racing amongst other horses. He added in the Straight REAL FIT did not close off the race as he anticipated it would and, in his opinion, was disappointing. A veterinary inspection of REAL FIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of ETERNAL GAINS immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea and confirmed the horse to be a “roarer” which had previously been reported. Before being allowed to race again, ETERNAL GAINS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of DRAGON ENERGY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
REAL FIT, WORLD CITY and LOVELY BOY were sent for sampling.
