Racing Incident Report

HAPPY ROCKY was withdrawn on 14.7.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (sore both front fetlocks). Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY ROCKY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
ENJOYABLE SUCCESS was slow to begin and then was ridden along for some distance in the early stages to make up ground.
AEROLUMINANCE and BULLISH GLORY were crowded for room on jumping between RIGHTEOUS MATE which began awkwardly and PO CHING TREASURE which shifted out.
Shortly after the start, GOOD FIT was steadied when crowded for room between INDIGENOUS STAR which initially shifted out and GARLIC YEAH which shifted in marginally. After this, from the outside barriers, INDIGENOUS STAR, GOOD FIT and GARLIC YEAH were all shifted across behind runners.
AEROLUMINANCE lost its left front plate shortly after the start and its right front plate near the 1700 Metres.
After the 1000 Metres, GENERAL DINO was awkwardly placed behind SPINNING DANCER. ENJOYABLE SUCCESS, which was following GENERAL DINO, was checked away from the heels of that horse in consequence.
GARLIC YEAH lost its right front plate near the 950 Metres.
Passing the 300 Metres, ASSOCIATION FANS was steadied when disappointed for running between AEROLUMINANCE and SPINNING DANCER. ASSOCIATION FANS was then shifted to the outside of SPINNING DANCER and was again steadied when disappointed for running passing the 200 Metres.
Approaching the 200 Metres, AEROLUMINANCE raced tight between SPINNING DANCER and ENJOYABLE SUCCESS.
Passing the 200 Metres, AEROLUMINANCE, SPINNING DANCER and HAY RUN all raced tight between ENJOYABLE SUCCESS and GARLIC YEAH which got its head on the side and lay in. ASSOCIATION FANS, which was following HAY RUN, was steadied away from the heels of that horse when continuing to be held up for clear running.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of PO CHING TREASURE, C Y Ho stated that the horse did not travel well at any stage of the race. He said along the Back Straight he was forced to niggle at PO CHING TREASURE at times to ensure that the horse maintained its position. He said after making the turn after the 900 Metres, PO CHING TREASURE immediately came under heavy pressure and then did not finish off the race. He added, in his opinion, PO CHING TREASURE did not handle the track conditions today. A veterinary inspection of PO CHING TREASURE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
After the race, J Moreira stated that GOOD FIT, after being shifted to the outside of runners rounding the Home Turn, did not feel comfortable in its action and although the horse may not have handled today’s track conditions, nonetheless he felt that GOOD FIT was not stretching out and may have had an issue. A veterinary inspection of GOOD FIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GOOD FIT, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GOOD FIT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of GARLIC YEAH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that HAY RUN had sustained a cut to the outside of the right hind cannon.
PO CHING TREASURE, MIDNITE PROMISE and GENERAL DINO were sent for sampling.
<16/7/2018 Additional Veterinary Report>GARLIC YEAH, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. GARLIC YEAH was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C H Yip this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, GARLIC YEAH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
